We each began 2017 with our own goals, objectives and expectations.
Some have retired this year, others have changed jobs, got married, had children or grandchildren. However, some have suffered loss and bereavement and the year has not unfolded as they had hoped.
Some have been frustrated and disillusioned by party politics, others have been encouraged by a kind word from a friend and, in turn, offered the same kindness to others and, in so doing, have found it to be true, that ‘it is more blessed to give than receive’.
The year is almost over and it is not a bad thing to reflect on that journey, but only in as much as it instructs us and spurs us on to better things as we look forward into the future.
The world continues to change as it always has, but the pace of that change is growing exponentially.
Technological advances mean that we can interact with the world as never before; world news is instant, albeit coloured by whoever delivers the message.
Social Media is both a blessing and a curse and serves to amplify one’s personality. Much like ‘road-rage’, actions, attitudes and statements, that would be unthinkable in a face to face situation, somehow bypass our normal filters when shielded behind a screen.
Kindness is not just for just for Christmas, it should be a lifestyle; so, I resolve to try to make a difference and be kind, be positive and be content.
For any of our clients, friends and associates who have personal difficulties to bear at this time, we trust that you will have the ‘peace of the season’.
