We each began 2019 with our own goals, objectives and expectations.
Some have retired this year, others have changed jobs, got married, had children or grandchildren. Some may have suffered loss and bereavement and the year has not unfolded as they had hoped.
The year is almost over and it is not a bad thing to reflect on that journey, but only in as much as it instructs us and spurs us on to better things as we look forward into the future.
Social Media has become a battleground for the hearts and minds of the populous and is both a blessing and a curse.
‘Fake News’ has become a virulent strain which has caused the total mistrust in anything we read.
However, I believe that we can be better than this, so let kindness be our code.
We now have a new government, which is a relief to some and source of disappointment to others, but at this Christmas time, when many will be enjoying the thrill of seeing children performing in Nativity plays, let is listen with hope to one of the key announcements we will hear at that play:
‘For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder’
So, let us rest in that assurance.
